If this quarantine has taught me one thing, it is that you should not take the tiniest things in life for granted. I love my restaurant chains, and much like everyone else, I have my favorites. And I would be lying to you if I said I was not looking forward to going back to these places. Welcome to the first installment of Unique Unis. This is where I, Erik Johnsen, review some of the more obscure uniforms that have ever been put out and worn. For the premiere of this series, we're going to go back to the year 1977. The Apple Computer was released to the public, The Eagles released "Hotel California", and  Star Wars was put out in theaters and later becomes the highest grossing film at the time. And the San Francisco Giants were as mediocre as mediocre can be. They were not the worst team in the league, by any means. The problem was that the Giants were stuck in the middle of the Juan Marichal led club and the Will Clark era that started the 1980s. Alas, the Giants were struggling to compete with the National League powerhouses such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadelphia Phillies. Hey guys! This is not going to be a long piece, but as you all know, sports have gone on a hiatus. How long that hiatus will last, we do not know. So, I've got some ideas on what to write about after the NFL Draft is all said and done. I have a couple of ideas that I'm going to roll with for the next little while. I'm going to start off this mock draft differently than others: I hope everyone reading this is staying safe indoors. If we want summer back, the best we can do is stay inside. Give it some time, and we will all get through this together. Think High School Musical. We're all in this together once we know that we are, we're all stars, and we see that. The NFL Draft is just around the corner, though. That's always a plus. Although we are not going to get to see the prospects boat onto the stage in the Bellagio fountains, we will still get to see people's lives get changed forever. Day 13 without sports, everybody. Each person reading this has made it through 13 days without sports. Pat yourselves on the back. You've earned it. However, the NFL, as mentioned in my "Predicting Every NFL Team's Week One Starting QB in 2020" article, is still active. Part of that article was correct, as it will be a time of great change in the league in 2020. Yet, as I imagined would be the case, I got some of those team's predictions for quarterbacks wrong. One of which was the Carolina Panthers. Not only has Teddy Bridgewater signed a 3 year 60 million dollar deal with the Panthers, but Cam Newton, my pick for the Week One starter, has been cut. Not traded. Cut. Now, it has come to fruition that in a Sports Illustrated article by John Pentol that the Panthers could be on their way to Rock Hill, South Carolina in the coming years. Sports has been absolutely killed this week. Some may think that killed is a little bit of an exaggeration, but it isn't. The NBA, NHL, MLS, Premier League, MLB, and NASCAR seasons have all been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping across the globe. A good portion of you reading this use sports as a coping mechanism in crises like these. Now, that coping mechanism is gone. What to do? Well, if you've noticed something in that list, the NFL is still (technically) going strong. The new league year is set to begin next Wednesday with free agency. However, with league tampering set to begin Monday, many free agent signings are going to leak before Wednesday. Many strong position players are available. Yet more than ever, it seems like many veteran quarterbacks are available this year than in years past. Ah yes, the Royal Rumble. The annual hour long fiesta in WWE in which 30 men enter, and only one man stands tall. After 29 men have been thrown over the top rope, the winner gets a prize, and a pretty good one at that. A main event match for a world championship at Wrestlemania. Since November, speculation always runs rampant as to who could be the man that could stand tall at the January event. Who could be The One? Rumors have ranged from Roman Reigns to Kevin Owens to CM Punk to even former UFC champion Cain Velasquez. After a few episodes of Raw and Smackdown go by every holiday season, people can get a good feel as to who the winner of the Royal Rumble will be. As of this writing, Roman Reigns is a heavy favorite to win and go on to face "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania.
