For Kyle...

My heart has been hurting over the past 24 hours or so. Thursday, May 21, was a dark, dark day for me and everyone else whose lives Kyle Busch impacted. I’m writing this on May 22, just about 24 hours after hearing the news of Busch’s tragic passing at the age of 41. I’m not releasing this until a few days from now, once I get back from Virginia, but I wanted to give my thoughts on a man who not only touched my life, but thousands, if not millions around the world. I can recall exactly where I was when I heard the news. I was at one of my favorite restaurants on the boardwalk. I ordered my drinks, saw the news, and sobbed nonstop for 30 minutes. I cried the rest of the night, I think a lot of people did. I wept because I was sad, sure, and I’ll get into why I’m still emotional later on, but I just can’t help but think of everyone else. I cried for Samantha, Kyle’s wife. He loved her so, so much. Hearing her struggles over the years to now, becoming a widow, gosh, I mean that just r...

2026 NFL Mock Draft: Mendoza, Miami, and Ohio State Stars Make the Trek to Pittsburgh

It's already April? It's already NFL Draft season? Wow, that time sure went fast...     I'm looking at this year's NFL Draft and thinking to myself one thing: how did the draft order end up like this? I mean, the Chiefs picking in the top 10? New England in the 30s? The Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions again? If you told me those three points as of the writing of my mock draft last year, I would've been shocked. It just goes to show that the NFL never fails to surprise me.     With free agency in the rear view mirror, we now are on the road to the Steel City and the NFL Draft. That means it's once again time for me to compose my annual mock, where I pair the league's top eligible draftees with their newest NFL homes. The University of Miami, Ohio State, and Clemson each have their fair share of names, but there's plenty of talent throughout this year's group. If you are a first-time reader, I do not predict any trades in my mock draft, as trying to ...

Predicting Every 2026 Week One Starting Quarterback in One Sentence or Less

Is it just me or is the time between the Super Bowl and the start of free agency a lot shorter than in prior years?      Seattle has won the Super Bowl, and the path to next year's is commencing shortly. That means free agency, and with a long list of players set to hit the open market, we could see some big bucks getting spent in a few weeks' time. Much of the focus, as is typical every free agent cycle, goes to where the quarterbacks end up. We saw it last year with Sam Darnold, as his franchise-changing decision to sign with the aforementioned Seahawks rewarded him with a Lombardi Trophy.      There are not many guarantees in the NFL, but one every winter is there will be some shuffling with the signal callers. Whether it be draft picks, trades, or free agent signings, teams are already looking at replacing their current quarterbacks with a fresher option. How will this year's puzzle be filled? It's time for my annual tradition as I t...

2025 NFL Mock Draft: Colorado Stars and Defensive Stalwarts Head to Titletown

I've done mock drafts for the past several years now, and each one feels a little different. Last year's felt like it centered on the quarterbacks and the picks that revolved around them. I remember 2021's was difficult because of how much the COVID pandemic impacted the 2020 season, and it was a much different sample size for each of the prospects. While writing this mock draft, I frequently asked myself a question that I've never asked before while writing any of my mock drafts: how will the 2025 NFL Draft be remembered?      If you ask the teams that are making these selections, they're in love with this year's class. Wanna know why? Not a single team has traded their first-round pick in this year's draft, so that has to speak some sort of volume. If you scroll through this list, you will not see the words "from ____" in any of the headlines below. The fact that every team in the NFL thought there would be some prospect in this first round ...

Predicting every 2025 Week One Starting QB in One Sentence or Less

It's, somehow, that time of year again.      A new batch of quarterbacks is entering the annual carousel. While it might not be the most enticing group since I started this series a number of years back, there are still some difference makers. Yes, you have your headliners of Sam Darnold, Matt Stafford, and Aaron Rodgers, but other signal callers will be headed to new destinations within the next few days. This also doesn't factor in the upcoming draft, where the two-headed monster of Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders will be hearing their names called, knowing where they will be spending the start of their NFL careers.       I'm not going to say that I'm 100% confident where each quarterback will end up. I never am. With that said, like a jigsaw puzzle, I'm going to try and piece where each one decides to call home. Last year went rather well for me, so let's see if I can top that with the 2025 edition of Every Week One Starting Q...
